I have moved many round bales with a FEL in the past, We used a spear attachment rather than the pallet forks. The biggest advantage was safety, on pallet forks if you roll the bucket back to much you can roll the bale off the loader and on to the tractor and yourself. With the spear we had you could still move pallets and such, the spears were made of heavy guage 2" square tubing with a point on the end. They were made by a local manufacturing company and several times were used to move items weighing up to 6,000 lbs (2940 john deere with 148 loader). for counter weight we had a 3 pt bale mover on the back and would carry 2 bales at a time (load them on to several bale carrier wagons that carried 11 bales at a time and bring 12 bales home at a time)
If you go with the pallet forks always keep the loader level or slightly dumped.

I put in a ground source heat pump about 7 years ago (4 ton 2 speed unit, heats and cools 3000+ sq ft house) it has around 3000 feet of lines in the ground, has hotwater heaters to recover some of the heat. I have had no trouble with this set up. Biggest advantage I have noticed with this system is it quiet.

I recently put an addition on to my house with the insulated concrete forms. what we did on the doors was the same we did for the windows by adding jam extentions to one side of the door frame, we mounted the doors so the hinge side was even with the wall and added the extention where needed.

For the backhoe I had a local welder make an adapter bracket to connect to the 1145 which connects to the lift arms and when in position is bolted to the frame, this bracket also holds the hydraulic pump. The oil reservoir is 15 gallon ( rule of thumb is that it is 1 1/2 times the gpm in gallons)
For heavy digging the 648 will still be available, but for getting to some of the places for light digging I need the 4wd.

I would also suggest a small combine, many of these have 6-8' wide heads on them, small grain tank. Have seen them locally converted to harvest organic edible beans. Most I have seen sold at farm sales only bring scrap metal prices.

I am looking at a case 648 with a loader and a backhoe. it is a 48 " all hydraulic loader, the backhoe (model D100) has a digging depth of 6', it is hydrostatic 2 wheel drive. it is need of a 18HP engine (engine is bad) The back hoe is is excellent shape (previous owner purchased new and dug graves with it) it is connected using 4 bolts, if the unit is bad it would not take much work to adapt to a compact tractor or skid loader.<br>what would be a fair price for a unit like this? any one have experience with units like this?

I have a neighbor that is selling a 1900 ford 4wd with a 771 loader. What price range should i expect to pay for this equipment, it has been shedded, it has not had hard use. average # hours. Ag tires all the way around about 50% tread left.<br>also what HP is this tractor rated at, and how dependable is it.<br>I am use to a JD630 with a 48 loader (20000+ hours on it so far)<br>thanks

I am looking at purchasing a vermeer treespade mounted on a vermeer articulated tractor. the treespade will cut a rootball approx 42" across and 40" deep. the machine is from the late 60's to early 70's. it has always been stored inside a heated shop year round except when in use. current owner has owned it about 12 years. current user has only used it on his personal proerty, no commercial use.<br>any help would be appreciated.
